Rendang Main Ingredients

  • 2 kilograms beef, thinly sliced
  • 1.2-liter coconut milk (you can buy it at the nearest Asian shop)
  • 2 liters of coconut water
  • 2 lemongrass stalks, crushed so that the aroma comes out
  • 10 kaffir lime leaves (get it at Asia/online stores)
  • 6 bay leaves (get it at Asia/online stores)
  • 4-6 pieces of turmeric leaves (get it in Asia/online stores)
  • 2 segments of galangal, bruised
  • 6 cloves
  • salt and sugar to taste

Ground spices (blend ingredients below)

  • 200 grams of red onion
  • 10 cloves of garlic
  • 200 grams of red chili
  • 2 tablespoons coriander
  • 2 thumbs of ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin (get it in Asian stores/online)

How to make Beef Rendang

  1. Bring the coconut milk and coconut water to a boil while stirring.
  2. Enter the ground spices, galangal, turmeric leaves, bay leaves, cloves, and lemongrass. Stir until fragrant.
  3. Add the meat, stir until smooth.
  4. Season with salt and a little sugar. Stir until the coconut milk shrinks, and the meat is browned. Rendang is ready to be served.

This cooking process takes approximately 2-3 hours. Usually, Indonesian people eat Rendang with rice, and please consume Rendang with the amount and type of carbohydrates according to your taste. Enjoy the best food in the world.
